N.J. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Thomas Bracken's Statement on Prioritizing Transportation Trust Fund and Tax Reform Funding
The N.J. Chamber believes the state legislature should pass the proposed legislation that responsibly funds the Transportation Trust Fund and effectively provides tax reform and fairness. Both are critical to New Jersey's economic future.
We also believe that the pension issue needs to be resolved equitably and the pensioners should be treated fairly.
The solutions to these problems are intertwined and need to be prioritized in the way Senate President Steve Sweeney and Assemblyman Declan O'Scanlon advocated in their comments this week.
We applaud the leadership, insight and courage both have demonstrated.
Their proposal represents the kind of fiscal responsibility that will benefit all the citizens of New Jersey.
