The New Jersey Chamber of Commerce attended yesterday's press conference outlining the plan for bipartisan transportation and tax reform.
First, the N.J. Chamber applauds Senate President Steve Sweeney, Sen. Steven Oroho, Sen. Paul Sarlo, Senate Majority Leader Loretta Weinberg, Assembly Majority Leader Lou Greenwald and Sen. Joe Kyrillos for their work on this proposal and their willingness to work to find solutions to these difficult issues in an effective and bipartisan way.
We urge legislators from both parties to follow the lead of these legislative leaders and work together to solve these p
roblems which have been ignored for too long.
We realize there are no easy answers, and that there will be discussion and debate about this proposal, but we must not lose sight of the fact that the cumulative impact of it is positive for New Jersey.
It is critical to New Jersey's future that we make our state more economically competitive, reverse the migration of citizens and businesses out of state, and attract new companies and new investment here.
We look forward to seeing yesterday's proposal become a final plan with well articulated goals and justifications to these ends.
The N.J. Chamber stands ready to help in any way possible.
